Indochina and Pacific in 79 Days

The most exciting trip of my life lasted 79 days, 8 countries and stopovers in another 2 countries: Starting on January 16, 2018 to Doha (stopover), Bali, where I made friends for life, Kuala Lumpur (stopover), Phuket, Ko Muk, Krabi and Bangkok in Thailand, Mandalay, Bagan, Ngapali Beach and Yangon in Myanmar, Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, back to Bali for a few days, Sydney (stopover) Melbourne, where I visited relatives who I hadn’t seen for literally decades, Adelaide, Port Pirie, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Sydney in Australia, Nadi in Fiji, Apia in Samoa where I made a friend for life, Auckland in New Zealand, Sydney (stopover), Bali again to kill a few days and back to Melbourne to celebrate Catholic Easter with the relatives like it were Orthodox Easter and finally departure to back home in Sofia, Bulgaria over Doha (stopover) and arrival on April 5, just in time to drive to Thessaloniki and celebrate Easter for a second time, this time the real Orthodox variant.

Bagan is a magical place, Ngapali Beach is a must visit, Vietnam is (surprise!) not in war with the USA, in fact they love Americans and have turned into hardcore capitalists, Coober Pedy is a place you don’t want to miss, Nadi, Fiji, was a huge disappointment, Samoa is a virgin place and its capital Apia is just a big village inhabited by adorable people.

And I forgot my good Sony camera in the aircraft from Yangon to Hanoi. “Nobody” found it.

It’s impossible to narrate in detail all the impressions, places, people, surprises or even the few disappointments. It’s impossible to make a conservative selection out of the thousands photos in order to show here. Therefore just a short collage movie.
